Colours

What all wonders colours do! I am so fascinated by colourful things. They make it so much more vibrant. A touch of colour makes a world of difference to me.

But what I fail to understand on colours is this. Why is it that pink is associated with girls & blue for the boys? I dont see anything feminine abt pink nor anything masculine on blue!

When my daughter was born most of her gifts (clothes, blankets, accessories etc) were all pink & for my son it was all blue! Infact if at all I were to dress my daughter with any of my son's old blue clothes everyone assumes that she is a boy!!!

I have also seen many expectant mothers, once they know the gender of their baby, decorating the baby's room with the respective colours.

Thankfully for us women we can get away by wearing all blue coloured clothes. But imagine if a guy were to wear a (shocking/bright) pink shirt! He would for sure be given a second look!

I love almost all the colours (except for the dull, boring & depressing colours). Be it my painting or my dressing I prefer the lively colours to the dull ones. Cos I think they add flavour to life! :)

"Eyes r blue Lovely too" from the nursery rhyme comes to my mind..Also the nursery decorations or wht ever...Its a pity guys cant wear all colors like anyone but I wonder if they miss pink?? Maybe they dont turn pink like women when they blush n thts why the color is not associated with men!!! Boo explanation but very valid question!! :)

I love colors too. All colorful things bring cheer to life. I love aqua blue and green, soft pastels and white.

Blue is a much stronger color than pink maybe that's why guys prefer blue. But this is more like a unwritten tradition......i have read it is related to german nazis too :)

Many guys i know including my hubby refuse to wear pink shades.... :)

I agree that the baby colors are a result of marketing and social pressure. I know guys that wear pink....... Usually because their wives have picked it out and make them, but with the right skin tones guys can look pretty hot in pink.

My favorite colors are the various shades of nature, oceans, sand, and trees, with a spash of bright colored petunias thrown in for contrast.

I like all colors. I just bought pastels for the kids when they were little. I dont know why the Blue and PINK . Actually my son has a light pink shirt that goes really well with a navy blazer.I think he looks nice.I think it has to do with the person wearing it.

Initially I also thought color was mainly some marketing trick practised over several decades, but i realized my daughter really likes pink color. she has tremendous fascination for the color, though she is only 3.

Its just the identity difference among kids. I have seen many asian men wearing pink shirts here. It doesn't matter to few people.
To me I try out all colors and enjoy it.

you know why the life span of woman is larger than man, its because of theie powerful Aura, coz gals wear colorful stuffs which generates healthier aura arround them, whereas men wear dull shades most often, it makes them weaker....

    Cheers!

Infact my 10 year kid remarked in the store that it lkd like gil's dress. Now, he enjoys wearing them though for a week he didnt seak to me after the purchase.

    First of all

Sorry, I'm too late to comment.

I love colours. It's all life in disguise. But I think blue also gives feminine feel, especially sky blue. I love it. :).

But have no idea on y pink is associated with gals. I love pink too : baby pink :)

That's why my space in msn is pink. :))
And my space on nature has changed to blue-not exactly the skyblue, but a beautiufl sea blue.

    Colourful post - loved it.

    with love,
    Aizwaikcha.
