Kabhi Kabhi - Part II

The story so far....by Harish :-

Sagar was bored. Neither Mukesh's Kabie kabhie playing on his ipod neither the John Grisham on his lap managed to keep him occupied.

"Flight No 1721 from Chennai to Kolkatta has few technical problems and we expect an hour’s delay in the schedule. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you" beamed the Rasagulla in the stewardess dress. Somewhere far he could see a woman crying on the shoulders of a man with lot of luggage. Must be newly married and traveling he thought.

This reminded him of Sowmya. Sowmya. Technically speaking she was an archived record in his memory database. It popped up at times and reminded him if some of his pleasant youthful days. Sowmya and Sagar had been in the same colony for almost 20 years and had been family friends. Sagar had a soft corner for her and was waiting for an opportunity. After his graduation Sagar got an offer for an interview and he was at the airport with Sowmya. Gathering all his courage he told her.

She smiled. Sagar was never so happier in his life. His happiness doubled when he got the job and he knew that everything was well set. But then that would be a perfect love story, isnt it? The demons of caste, religion, status and ego made sure that their love was buried deep in the cemetery of life. They parted as friends with each deciding to themselves that they would never see the other for the rest of their life.

10 Years had rolled by. Sagar heard from someone long before that Sowmya was married to some guy and had a kid. He had seen their marriage photo in his friends’ house and he had to say that her hubby was smarter than him. He did feel jealous. Sagar too got married to Asha and they had a daughter. Asha passed away in labour and Sagar felt as if he was carrying some curse where everyone close to him perished. Despite his parents constant nagging to remarry he had resisted it and managed to raise his daughter with their help.

"Excuse me." Someone broke his thoughts as he realized that his bag was in the middle of the pavement. He got up and removed the bag and apologized.

He was shocked to see Sowmya with her husband and kid.

Ok. I know the ending. Lets see how you people can take the story ahead.
Start the music :-)

And now continuation of the story (my version!!!)

Both r thrilled to c each other & @ the same time, too many mixed emotions. She introduced him to her hubby (as her family friends' kid) & they start speaking to each other.

Shortly, her naughty daughter started running around & her hubby went behind the kid. Then Sowmya started enquiring abt Sagar & was terribly shocked to note that he has lost his wife & that he had a daughter too. She cudnt resist giving him a hug with tears in her eyes. She took his contact details b4 they left.

Sowmya still loved Sagar & had a soft corner for him. She used to often revive the good times she had with him & always wondered how it wld be if they were married. She wanted to tell him many things that were happening in her life but felt that it was not the right time to do so & hence refrained from doing so.

Few months later.....

As usual he retd home from work & was pleasantly surprised to see Sowmya & her kid there. His parents were happily talking to her & the kids were playing together. His parents had to go for their evening walk in the nearby park & the kids went along with them to play & they were left alone.

They didnt know what to speak or how to react. There was gloom & sadness in her eyes. After a while, Sagar broke the silence. How is ur husband? She cldnt control herself anymore & burst out into tears & ran into his arms. He was shell shocked to hear that she & her husband have separated.

Apparently he was a womaniser & had cheated many women & ruined their lives. Two of them even had a child of his. Not only that, he was also a supplier of arms to the terrorists. Unfortunately, Sowmya came to know of all this only in the recent past.

Sagar was still in a state of shock (& loss of words) to see his loved one in such a state. Sowmya looked totally devasted & dreaded the future of her daughter & her upbringing. Just then the doorbell rang & his parents were back from their walk.

Sowmya had already told her story to them & they were more than compassionate with her. After Asha's death, they repented every single day for turning down the love of Sagar & Sowmya. According to them, this was the right time for both of them to get back & be happy together.

Heart of hearts Sagar was more than happy to have Sowmya back. His long time true love that she was. Sowmya also knew that she could live happily with him forever & her parents also would oblidge this time for sure. But..............

Now u guys can decide how u want the story to be!!! ;) Speak up & let's see if its any different from what I've in mind!! :D

That was a bit convenient. There is a but?
Her daughter was revolting at the idea of accepting another man as father. She had no idea of her father's real character and thought him to be a saint. In the meantime Sowmya's estranged husband decides he wants custody of his daughter and uses his underworld contacts to terrorise Sowymya, till one day they set fire to her house with her in it....

(I hope its not too melodramatic) Anyways my two cents.. but good story so far

Picking up from when he was ask to move the luggage..........

As he looked up, he realized he was looking right into the eyes of his long lost beloved. He became sad when he realized that time had not been kind to those eyes, and that where once joy had shined out of them, now pools of sadness and shadows had taken up residency. As she introduced him to her husband and child her eyes pleaded with him to forgive her for leaving him to walk a different path. After shaking hands with his husband and smiling at her daughter, he gave her a tiny embrace, and whispered to her, "All is well, all is as it should be. We will always be connected and in one another's heart. That is enough for me. Honor your commitments, I will wait.

As they pulled apart, besides the single tear that slipped down her cheek, he noticed that the dispair in her eyes had changed to hope, and way deep in the iris, he wanted to believe he saw the beginning of a sparkle emerging.

As he watched the family walk away he couldn't help thinking, "all is as it was meant to be. Isn't it always?"

    H2bee,
I am not a good story writer. All I can say is, they can be friends and remain together in the same house. Marriage is not the only challenge here. They both need a companion for themselves and their daughters.

I love happy endings and the thought of it actually happening, even when the possibility of lovers uniting in certain cases is the last thing that would ever happen. So it is nice to see, true love win at last. :) But I guess, in real life sometimes that is almost wishful thinking?

Hi Sagar, Kumar walked upto him and shook his hands. Sowmya told me about your love for each other before our marriage.I am very fortunate for marrying her. You people carry on with old times while i get some ice cream for the kids.
Sowmya walked in with a smile and then she said she felt sorry about Asha and their life. She then said Kumar will give his life for her and standup against anyone for her. They were living happily.
sagar realised he had made a mistake in his life for not fighting the demons of caste, religion, status and ego... when they were in love and letting her down. he wished them all the best and took a resolve that atleast he won't let his daughter down in life :)

Sagar could not think of anyone else taking the place of Asha in his life. Though they lived only for a short time together he loved her more than anything in this world. Sagar also made it clear to his parents that he can't marry anyone and he was going to live the rest of his life for his daughter.
Later one day, when Soumya visited a church she happened to see her ex-husband playing with the kids in the orphanage. She got furious on seeing him there, wondering what he was upto with those cherubic children.
She entered the play area of the orphanage and caught him by his collar and pulled him out. A Father there saw this and came rushing to stop her.
Only after the father told, she realised that her husband was a under cover cop and he joined the terrorist gang as part of an operation to nab the terrorist gang fully. He was not able to tell her about these during their seperation due to security reasons, and the womanising was part of being the terrorist.
Soumya immediately burst into tears thinking how dumb she was to suspect such a person. Sowmya lived with her husband and their child happily everafter...

Sorry it became a bit too long...

Even though it is late to post and no one might read this still how about a modern twist..

She was happy with her husband & he was busy raising his son. After 18 years his son finished college and bagged a very prestigious job. Then one day his son introduces him to a girl and there was something very familiar in that girl like he knew her but he didn’t remember meeting before. She starting coming to his place with his son and every time she was there he had this unexplained feeling in his heart for her like she has always been a part of his life. Then he thought he might be feeling this because she is very loving & caring and madly in love with his son and she is like the daughter she never had until one day she was there with her mother. He couldn’t believe it, it was soumya.. She was soumya’s daughter. Now he understood why his heart was feeling that way about her being so familiar.

Sagar found out that Somuya’s husband 10 years ago in an accident and she never married again because she didn’t think of bringing a step father in her daughter’s life. She found a job after his husband death & raised her daughter giving all the love & providing the best for her.

Sagar’s son & somuya’s daughter got married and Sagan & Soumya became family as somuya’s daughter wanted to keep her mother with her after marriage & he had said that to her son when they first decided to get married. (Love is not only having sex & all. I think if you have your loved ones with you, you are satisfied & happy)

(Alternate last part like a movie of Rishi Kapoor & Dimple)

After a year of their kids marriage, sagar thought they both had sacrificed their lives for the kids and now its time for them to think of themselves. Sagar decided to get married to soumya. She wasn’t sure about it but her feeling for sagar made her say yes. Their kids protest but they went ahead with it anyway and after giving lots of thought they realized that their parents did sacrifice a lot for them and now they should be happy for their parents. They all lived happily ever after.
