Silence

Can u be without talking for a few days? (apart from probably the absolutely essential ones & manage with gestures?) (I hope)

I intend doing so i.e be without talking....just in silence....just be with myself for the next few days. This is the first time I plan to venture into something like this! Will let u know how it was in the days to come.

Hence will be out of blogging action for the next few days. Will come back & catch up soon.

Meanwhile lemme know how you would cope without communication! And dont forget to wish me luck! :)

Why not just silence in speech? Why writing too? And first, where's the need for abstaining from a god given capability?

I know people who have done maun vrath. I have spent days without talking when I was in the dorms, I'd be there by myself in the room on the weekends. But inevitably after a day or so, I get an itch to communicate something with someone somehow

wow, what a way to make your weekend a memorable experience with a therapeutic silence ,sounds too appealing for someone like me.I guess, it requires a lot of patience to practice silence! wishing you good luck...can't wait to see how you've fared without talking....:)

Blessings be upon you during this time of silent reflection. You will discover great things I am sure.

Take away my kids and my job, and I believe I could enjoy the silence/no talking. In the mist of either, I am sure the exercise would just provide stress and frustratioin. I have taken our trailer away for a weekend by myself and talked to no one, and it was fabulous.

I used to think of this too but I am a chatty type of person.Only if I am locked up in a room or depressed do I go into the silent mode.SO I don't see that happening in the near future.
do let me know how it goes for u.it's nice for the soul,u will feel really peaceful

I stay silent mostly when I am angry or upset with something. In those situations I prefer staying alone. :)

You can be quiet, not speaking.....but being silent is different....completely getting your brain rid of interfering thoughts and concentrating to the max

Enna, trying to escape from answering someone, eh? ;)
    Just kidding! All the best!

Silence and ansering in monotones are my way of showing anger. I would act so for days that my folks would even forget why I got angry in the first place!!!

In words you share what you feel, in silence you feel what you share.

All the Best.. but why are you tring to do it? IMHO, silence or talking should not be forced either way. Sometimes, in a full room you dont feel like talking and vice versa.. it should happen on its own, na?
